How to get over post course syndrome?

We are back from a course and we think and believe everything i have learnt is worth giving it a try.
We tell our staff that everything is gonna work and we are going to make changes.
Pause...

Did you ever think your child will stop using mobile just because you have come from a parenting session?

You do sit down and tell them the effects (if at all they are ready to listen to you).
What makes you feel you staff is different from your kids?

Both of them didn't attend that course.
They are definitely on same page.

So what to do about it?
Do nothing or become a brigadier who can just order order and order.

You know armed forces train officers to order with a reason how will following their order effect the result.
I would say 9 A is the solution.

ASSESS-  Buy yourselves a trouble shooting diary that will contain all information about the problems we discuss.

ACE rule-Follow a one week rule.
One week one problem.

ANALYSE- Talk about the problem you are having when you want to change a particular system and assess do your staff also considers it a problem. Trust me if they do not believe it is a problem they will not do it unless they are new.

ASK- Ask for help from them, may be they provide a solution. if they are blank at solution, suggest and ask if we could just implement this system.

APRECIATE- Appreciate if they provide and analyse is it better than your learned solution at a course. Even if it is better it is not a tested thing.

ACCEPT Our take is to accept a part of what they said with your idea as the main driving force.
Make notes of problem and solution with the consent of all team members in the diary.

ACT- Teach the steps of the solution as in a role play if it is the conversation or a demo if it is a procedural help or software.

ASSIGN- Assign an audit officer for the same system who could look after and make changes in the system with your permission I required over a period of time.

ACCOUNTABLE- Become accountable yourselves by coming in time in clinic and following the other most important tasks assigned to you for daily work flow.

Fire to retire

We as Dentists are way too casual to take out retirement seriously. Honestly retirement is not on the task list of most Dentists and even if it is there, it is not accomplished untill it is too late. Financial knowledge is the last knowledge we want to attain either because we do not have resources or we find it awkward to ask for help. Why is your exit plan or retirement plan important as a dentist? 😃The show must go on even if you are gone. 😃You cannot work all your life 😃You do not want to be dependant on your kids 😃You want to enjoy every bit of life 😃Things will never be the same and so will be your income 😃You want to command respect and not demand it at that stage of life 😃The systems and the practice you have generated doesn't go in vain and keeps on serving people. 😃Reasons are plenty if you think a little deeper.

"I don't need an associate dentist in my clinic" TIME TO RETHINK

"I have a single chaired practice. What would the associate dentist do in my clinic?" "I have a two chaired practice and my second chair is hardly used. I don't think associate dentist fits in my clinical setup" "My patients won't allow anyone else to treat them. Associate dentist will be a wasteful investment." The above quotes are the commonly phrased sentences which we hear when the need of associate dentist in a clinic is discussed. The larger centers of course have one or more associate dentists. The dentists who have employed associate dentists for more than a year have this sort of a saying. "Associate dentist is a magic wand. It improved my positioning in clinic and my success rate went up by 20%" " Hiring an associate was a wonderful employment as it gave me an ample time to get out of the routine dentistry and think out of the box" "Dental Associate made my life easier, my family happier and gave me t...

Write your work life balance kundali...

Visions, strategy, goals, achievements. The picture says it all vision is the basis of human enrichment and we all are driven by the vision we have. Vision in this picture is basically the theme of a balanced life with the elements of work and life inculcated into it. Lovely part of the picture is that it is the script of the evolutionary story. Just play with it working from the center and move outwards jotting down your story. Core center:  Vision :  The basic parameters(  6 F)  determining our success Fitness Family Friends Finances Function (Work) Fulfillment After that just jot down the achievements you want to make in all these parameters. The achievement would depend on the goals attained and the goal completion would be needing a strategy to work with.
